What can FedEx do for you?

Do you recall how much UPS values me? I'll wait a minute while you go back a read that if you don't recall. We decided to give ol' Fedex a try and have not found them to be much better. Listen to this scenario.

We've shipped packages worth around $100-$200 dollars til the cows comes home. We never buy the extra insurance and they always arrive on time and intact. On May 4th, I shipped a Digital Video Recorder worth around $1400 and bought extra insurance....just in case. Thank friggin' God I did because as the Luck o'Mine would have it, the package never arrived. Actually Fedex said it was... um... Inadvertently destroyed beyond repair. I guess that's their way of saying that some dork forgot to close the plane hatchdoor and my package fell from an altitude of 15,000 to smash to tiny smithereens on some tarmack in a nameless small town. Now, after admitting to this, I am getting the biggest run around you have ever seen. All I want is my $1400 so I can replace the DVR for our customer...... who is a jeweler and needs the video capability so he can catch the thieves ripping him off left and right. I've faxed all the appropriate forms, receipts and bills for a new DVR. Today, I had to involve a manager after the CSR I was speaking with was treating me like a moron. "Ma'am.... you really need to refax the paperwork because I'm not showing the claim has been assigned or the paperwork even received." is how she put it. "Look, happy one," I say "I received a confirmation fax stating you HAD received my paperwork. Please get a supervisor on this phone right now because I need this resolved yesterday. WTF kind of place are you people running there? Do you think I have $1400 dropping out of my ass that I can just replace this piece of equipment on a whim?"

On the other side of that coin, last fall, FedEx decided that they would not require signatures for any deliveries unless requested by either the shipper or the receiver.

What a fiasco that is turning into.

The company I work for has had to re-send more shit because their asshole drivers just leave the product at the door, in the yard, in front of the garage.... etc.... ya get the drift?

Ol' Hoss can be making his pile so much faster if her would just follow those trucks around pickin up the stuff they are leavin eveywhere....

OMG! I hate having to deal with CSR that treat you as if it is your first time on using a phone.

I hope this gets resolved soon, very soon!

You sound like me on the phone. Why is it these companies push for people to buy their insurance, then never want to pay when they F up? Oh, I know its because they just want the extra money from the hundreds of people that they don't screw over.
Good luck, and if you do find money falling out of your ass, please be sure to call me.

Sheri, that really is terrible, but the "look happy one" made me choke, it was so funny. May I borrow it for my own CSR nightmares? =)

Geesh... I can't believe your luck. What FedEx didn't want to admit is that one of their employees stole the merchandise... I'll put money on that. Many shipping companies have internal loss prevention problems - sometimes referred to as "accidents". Good luck getting thru the mess.

akkkkk! I can't do business with UPS because of a freak incident in my younger days. Fed Ex has to do the job for me, they better not fuck that up.
