The Regionals

After sweating all summer in the heat and humidity, I always say I"m going to be so ready for fall to come and the cooler weather. However, this morning I'm sitting here shivering, vowing to NOT TURN THE HEAT ON. I've got a sweatshirt on and am still chilly in the house. The sun is rising higher in the sky and I know it will bring the warmth with it...... so I will wait.

Gary left for Maryland at 1am this morning. I spoke with him a few moments ago and he was almost there, sounding pretty jacked up on caffeine. He'll practice all day today and tomorrow. Friday and Saturday is the tournament and he'll leave early Sunday morning for home. He and his partner, Bill, finished 1st in the state of Maine for the Angler's Choice trail and are fishing at the Northeast Regionals on the Chesapeake Bay. Wish him good luck!

I'm still liking my job but I swear I will never again think working in a cafeteria is easy. It's hard work! Requiring alot of lifting, bending, scrubbing, cleaning....it gives me a daily workout (and a much needed one at that!) The kids are awesome (so far!) but they make such a mess. I've contemplated putting a sign on the salad bar that reads:

NOTE TO STUDENTS:
IF YOUR SALAD IS DROPPING OFF YOUR PLATE ONTO THE FLOOR - YOU HAVE ENOUGH. DO NOT CONTINUE TO PILE IT HIGHER!

LOL! I start volunteering at Kid L's cafeteria next month so I will be sure to look for mile high salads.

Good luck to Gary! Does this mean that he will soon have the fishing done for the year and can stay home with you and Hannah?
I am so glad you still like your job. Do you feel like you need a raise yet?

I haven't been on blogger much, but had to stop in. I'm glad the job is still going well. I think any kind of scrubbing is hard work. When I clean, I ache afterwards. I think that's a sign you're doing it right. Haha.
