School Days

Kindergarten 2003 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 1st Grade 2004

2nd Grade 2005

My daughter's first day of school was yesterday. She was so excited to see her friends and start the 2nd grade. She set her alarm and got right out of bed, ate her breakfast, brushed her teeth, combed her hair and got dressed in record time. We only received 50 0r 60 mosquito bites waiting for the bus. ugh - I am so sick of them. Bring on the cold weather to hibernate those little f-ckers.

I was giddy with MY newfound freedom as I was able to have the day to myself. She reported that the first day was "awesome!" and "oh Mom, I just LOVE 2nd grade! It's the best!" It probably helped that they had one of her favorite lunches too. Nothing like a good ol' fish filet sandwich to make your day brighter!

This one didn't make me cry. She is such a sweetie. Enjoy your new found freedome. Mine head back next week...not quite as excited about as yours obviously was.

Hopefully the rest of the year goes as well as the first day.

Yeah! Tell her about the lunchroom food of yesteryear. Remember barbecued barf? Mystery meat? That horrendous gooey eyeball textured stuff that no one really knew what it was - not even the lunchladies?

I have four more days before "giddy-dom" here. WHEEEEE.

Next stop high school, and the 'I don't want to go to school' days. :)
I am glad she is enjoying school now though.

What a cutie! As my daughter Cailyn says, "2nd Grade Rocks!" LOL

Isn't their enthusiasm wonderful?

I hope that the rest of her first week is as great as the first day.

Here's to the 2nd grade--and to a taste of freedom!

I'm so glad school is going well for her. Nothing tickles me more than a child who enjoys school.
