Bit O'Fall

Yesterday, I was driving and I had to lock my brakes up and back up to do a double take at this. The leaves are starting to change. Oh sweet all that is Holy - I'm not ready for this! I sat there and wept for summer. I know it's inevitable that winter will come so I might as well buck up and get ready for it. However, before winter is my favorite season of all... autumn! I adore autumn for many reasons. There are no bugs, including mosquitoes to ruin a nice evening. The lawn stops growing and requiring mowing all the time. I can wear pants again and even a turtleneck! Every year I think the leaves are more beautiful than the year before! The air will be crisp and clean, apples and pumpkins will abound and the sun will be brilliant in the sky. The days will be warm... but not too warm and the nights will be cool. A/C units will come out of the windows and the fresh clean air will be allowed to flow through. Old garden plants and flowers will need to be pulled and mulched, flower pots, garden items, birdbaths, statues, pool items, deck chairs & tables and lawn mowers put away in storage. Anything going through the bulkhead in the cellar needs to get there because once we start plowing, the bulkhead is virtually unusable. Flip flops and sandals are put away and the clogs and boots come out. Hats and matching mittens need to be located before needing them and the previous years boots & skipants need to be tried on to see if another season can be squeezed out of them. Orange vests are brought out and a bright orange bandana tied on the dog. We are ready, Old Man Winter... BRING IT ON!

Oh how sweet, now I get to read about all the snow, ice, and endless winter. :) To bad I will be sitting in the sun, playing in the sand at the beach.

Sorry, just had to rub it in. :)

Fall is my favorite season, too. I think it's the main reason to live in the northeast. Boo and I got married in October which you may or may not know, specifically because fall is the best season of the year. Unfortunately the leaves hadn't started to turn when we had our wedding but 2 weeks later, what a site from my library window!

The leaves are changing here also. I'm not ready for winter, but you make it sound good though. =)

I'm ready Sheri. Fall is my favorite time of year...Kids back to school, color where ever you look, quiet rides to see foliage, fresh air and cool nights ofr sleeping, and everyone goes back to a normal routine. I love it! I hate the thought of cold dead of winter though. Not ready for that. Summer was great I just think I'm tired of all the sun, time to give my skin a break. Nice pictures...makes me anxious for it.
