The Partridge Family

Today at school a girl came through the lunch line with this on her shirt.....

Being the hip, cool lunch lady that I am, I always try to have a few words of conversation with each student as they come through to pay me.

Me: "What a neat shirt, Katherine! I haven't seen that in a long time!"

Katherine: "What? Huh? Duh?"

Me: "The Partridge Family! I love that logo - that was such a fun show. Have you ever seen it?"
At this point she's looking at me like I've sprouted another head.

Katherine: "No - I didn't know it was a show. I've never heard of it. I just like the birds marching along."

oh my God - am I old?

The weather has been warming up considerably. This past Monday was pleasantly nice but not warm enough for shorts yet. That didn't stop the girls at school. Uh uh, no way. They were complaining about being freezing.

"omg - it's like freezing in here! I'd better go, like, put on a tank top on or something to take the chill off. But wait a minute! That won't show enough skin. Darn! Well, I guess I'm going to have to , like, suffer the rest of the day!"

I feel like screaming at them.... For God's sake, if you came to school dressed in more clothes than your underwear and flip flops, you might be warmer.

What is it with the flip-flops? Hopie was wearing them almost before the snow melted. AND complaining that her feet were cold!

Man, I hate teenagers....

We're all getting old damnit. Those damn 'vintage' tshirts. Rick Springfield was my big crush and he's like in his mid fifties now. Its so frickin' scary.

Ugh. I am SO not looking forward to teenager-ville. Of course I have plenty of time to learn from you. LOL. The flip flops kill me. Those and the pajama pants in public. WTF?

"I just like the birds marching along."

That is fabulous! Kid L and her friends make me feel old a lot these days.

Thankfully, we have yet to enter the "I'd rather be naked than warm" phase. I distinctly remember shunning a jacket but I am not ready for that with my own.
