Tidbits of Nothing

I guess not many of you liked my Fuzzy Zoeller golf shot. Holy shit - I thought it was great. It made me want to take up golfing. How could a ball just sit there for 10 seconds before rolling again AND towards the cup for a hole in one? Divine intervention, I tell ya!

Today, Gary and I went to Sams Club for some bacon. It's the kind that is pre-cooked. I want to take some to camp because I can not stand the splattering of bacon grease everywhere. Gary always thinks he needs to cook bacon at camp because for some reason, I develop a lack of knowledge how to do it (according to him). When he's done cooking, it's as if he threw hot grease into a turbo fan in the kitchen. Yeah - that's what I'm talkin' about..... grease on every washable surface in the universe kitchen and I'm the one holding the dishcloth.

I did a bad mom thing. I lied to Hannah. She wanted to have a friend come to camp this weekend and last week I told her yes, I had no problem with that. I guess I should have checked with my other self because now that THIS week has rolled around I am finding that I DO have a problem with that and want to weasel out of it. I'm so bad and feel horrible about it. I called the little friend's mom and cleared it for her to go the weekend of Hannah's birthday (which is the 26th) and I told Hannah..."Aw, I'm sorry. I didn't ask if Dana could go this weekend but she is coming the weekend of your birthday!" Hannah looked momentarily totally bummed out but as the words "she is going the weekend of your birthday" sunk in, all was right in her world again.

Did you know that it's near impossible to clean your fingernails properly while driving 70 mph? Hmmmm. Me neither and I'm just saying because we tested that theory today. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. I wonder what people think as they pass us on the highway and Gary is lazily picking his fingernails, while I'm leaning over him, steering the truck for him. Freaks..... is a word that comes to mind.

Ewwww, I would have hurled in his lap. I can't bear to watch anyone clean their fingernails.

You're a great mom, Dorkster. Everybody lies, Sheri. The good ones (and I count myself among them) have to keep honing their skills..............

oh man, i so hate cleaning the kitchen after the other ppl in my house use it. and with school ending soon it will be worse. and being one handed makes some of the necessary elbow grease tough to come by. guess i'll be cracking lots of whips to get them to clean up after themselves.

Bad mom you're not - and I know because I am an expert! ;-) My kids have never had a sleepover let alone me take the kid with us like that somewhere - so you are WAAAAAYYYY better than me. And obviously, you are a better wife - cuz ew...no, I wouldn't do that. i almost vomit when he cuts his toenails with a clipper.

The video was great, I was just way to sleepy to comment.
Bad mom, no way. A bad mom is someone who says 'I forgot to ask' and leaves it at that.

I loved the Fuzzy video as well. Sometimes you have to just say no to children. I'm glad Hannah took it well.

Dude, that Fuzzy shot was the money! Yeah, I watched it and didn't leave a comment either. I'm a bad person. But at least I've never lied to your daughter! Haha. Just kidding. Sounds like you handled the situation marvelously.
