Kalypso's Video

If you haven't had a chance to see Kalypso's video from New Orleans.... take the time (about 12 mins) to do so. She's a 10 yr old, 5th grader who shows the viewers the city through her eyes. Mardi Gras, Katrina and her aftermath in Kalypso's words..... I'm thinking that this girl has a journalistic future ahead of her.

I have a hard time wrapping my mind around the devastation and destruction that still exists there. The shot at the end which shows the city's skyscrapers and then pans to the chaos with a view of the city is really striking.

She gasps between sentences and I find it a bit unnerving. If she works on that, I can see her taking Katie Couric's place. LOL I have no reality on that disaster. It's surreal.

Wow...the good, the bad and the ugly all in one video. What devastation. NO is one of my favorite cities. It is we gay's fault ya know...if it wasn't for our debauchery weekend that weekend God wouldn't have had to have destroyed...well and the fact that Ellen is from there.

I am sure NOLA will rise again. It is the sity that never dies.

That little girl has the insight of an 80 year old woman. What a remarkable video. I hope she earns money for it one day.
It's hard for us up here in Maine to even fathom that kind of devastation. The worst we have ever had in our lifetime Sheri is the Ice Storm and that was nothing compared to. I have heard reports on the tv recently that says Maine's ocean waters will be so warm this year that the hurricane season is predicted to devastate us. I can't even imagine. And we are so unprepared.
Thank you for sharing this video...heartbreaking but heartwarming at the same time. One Remarkable story and one beautiful and remarkable little girl.
