Please Say It Ain't So....

My last post had me telling you all that I didn't feel well. That was the beginning of a terrible head cold and overall feeling of yuckiness. No sympathy was given to me by my oh-so-loving husband. His basic bedside manner SUCKS and if I am not fainting, dying or in need of a tourniquet, I receive no more than a cursory "You'll live" from him. However, this morning the Master awoke and declared that although the sun was still rising in the sky and the earth still spinning, God help us all.....he didn't feel well.Image hosted by Photobucket.com Oh the pains we must go through when he's sick. Please, those of you who personally know myself and Gary know that I love that man with all my heart but at times like this I must question my own sanity for doing so. He turns into someone I don't know. A permanent frown is creased on his head. The man is normally very hard of hearing but more than a whisper sends him into a "Quiet!!! For the love of God, can you not see I am sick here!" tirade. Special food and drink must be in the pantry, cold compresses applied to his poor, warm head, blankets to take off the chills and the remote control super-glued to his hand. Yes, the Master can sleep off sickness while watching tv at a volume no human can stand, through his closed eyelids. I can't be the only woman on the planet with a husband that turns into a widdle, tiny baby when he gets sick? Am I?

NO, you are definitely NOT alone. Lloyd isn't much better when he is sick, and the thing that bothers me most is......he won't just GO TO BED.....NO,he has to fall asleep in the living room, in his chair or on the couch and expects teh rest of us to be QUIET and let him sleep. If he just went into the bedrooms and shut the door, the rest of our lives could continue. I would LOVE for someone to tell me to go to bed when I don't feel well. Doesn't happen. When I say I'm not feeling well the first thing Lloyd does is feel my forehead...because....we all know...the no fever means no "SICK"! I decided a long time ago that I'd rather have a dozen sick kids then ONE sick husband. AMEN

what is it with men? It is ridiculous. I can be sick and he won't even come check on me to see if I need anything. I get no simpathy and when I had morning sickness with the kids forget any help at all. I had fantasies when I was younger of my loving husband holding my hair and pampering me through morning sickness, or any other kind of sickness for that matter. Fooey! Not happening.

And I am with Anonymous, I'd rather have all my kids sick then my husband sick. He's useless and a HUGE BABY.

Sheri, take it from a much older women (overlook that it is your mother) I have never known of one man, including the one I used to have and the men of my friends, they need to go to the Mars Ward to get over their illnesses! And I'm not referring to Candybar Heaven either! This ward is out of this world as we know it, with aliens catering to their every need!

Oh how I identify with this!

Everyone else said it pretty well. I'm sick now, and I got my husband sick, so now he is almost the walking wounded. Poor thing.

He did pour me Nyquill last night. But that was so my coughing wouldn't keep him up. But, I think it was because he cared as well. :)
