Jeff & Ariel's Wedding

What a fun filled, busy weekend! I had no idea so much detail and planning went into a wedding. There was a man named Tim at the The Nonantum Resort who was amazing in helping make Ariel's day spectacular. No detail was left undone.

Friday, I helped my sister Sue set up the Westerly for the rehearsal dinner. Dinner for 65 was haddock chowder and lobster rolls. She had rented all the dishes, silverware, linens, tables & chairs. It was a wonderful dinner and everyone had a great time. I had such a good time helping my sister get everything ready.


Friday the bridal party had manicures and a pedicure. The next morning, Hannah went to the hairdressers to have her hair done. Her hair is so thick and it took 97 bobby pins to secure her hair in a beautiful up-do. Gary made her promise not to mess her hair up by rolling around on the floor with the dogs afterwards.Ariel was also having her hair done at the same time. She was so calm and collected on her special day.Here is Hannah's hair with her tiara being put on. Here's my girl all ready to go. The shawl was a gift from Ariel and it is made of silk and cashmere and is the softest thing ever. I think I will steal it from Hannah.
The chuppah (or bridal canopy) at the church was a big hit. My mom spent many hours constructing the chuppah for Jeff and Ariel. She incorporated pictures of all the family members into the chuppah. The chuppah symbolizes the new home of the bride and groom. It was on display during the reception so everyone could see it up close. Here is a picture of the chuppah up closer. The back of it has night sky fabric on it.


The wedding party waiting for Ariel to arrive. She was escorted by her parents and so was Jeff. It was a beautiful ceremony. Full of traditions... the chuppah, breaking of the glass, signing of the Ketubah. The wedding party celebrates!

Hannah danced with Sandy at the first dance. How cute is that! The dancing at the reception was so much fun! The Hora, or chair dance, was very boisterous! A few strong and brave guests hoisted the bride and groom high above the crowd on chairs to the infectious sounds of "Hava Nagila". Friends and family dance around, clapping and singing. Even my sister and her husband went up in the chair amid much laughter. Hannah danced so much and had such a great time she actually was crying when the day came to an end. She announced it was the best day of her life ever.
