He's back with glasses on.

Well....it's happened. I've crossed over to the other side and am now in possession of my first prescription for (gulp) eyeglasses. I can't see up close anymore and my arms just won't get any longer to hold the stuff at a comfortable distance to see it clearly. Now, dear readers, don't get all excited... it's just a prescription for readers so I don't have to wear them all the time. I asked the doc if I could just skip on over to RiteAid and get some of those $10 readers and he said "you're eyes are not exactly the same and you really are at the point where you need the proper lens for each eye." I bet you say that to all the girls, doc.

My friend, Mr. Baltimore Oriole is back. He always shows up around Mother's Day and stays for a few weeks. I'm not sure if this is just a temporary stop on his migration northward but I love it when he is here. He loves oranges and yesterday he and his mate ate 2 whole ones. The feeder is a simple 2x4 cut with dowels to land upon and finish nails to hold the oranges. It has a simple roof painted bright orange to attract them. Isn't he a handsome bird? I also had a hummingbird check out the orange yesterday. You can just see him entering the photo on the right and I apologize that the picture is so dark.

Don't feel bad about the glasses. At 28, I had to get bifocals, weak perscriptions for each distance, but still bifocals. Yikes. Since then, my eyes have deteriorated a little each year.

Awesome pics Sheri. I have the same feeder but not with an orange roof. Maybe that's the trick. Still waiting on Hummingbirds but people around me have said they have seen them. Might help if I actually put out feeders right! LOL.
Tim just bought his first pair of Rite Aid Readers. (On he got them at Wally World) Sucks getting old doesn't it!
Keep enjoying those birds and your pics are really nice.

I've had a prescription for glasses since I was about 24. I have trouble seeing far away and wear them mostly for driving. It sucks. 2 of my 3 kids wear em too.

I bet you look great! ;)

What a beauty that bird is! Anytime I've ever tried to take a photo of a bird, it's always flown away before I can snap it -lol.
