I read a few things today that had me wondering. Sarah talked at length about being pro-life although she formerly was pro-choice. There's a commercial running on one of our local channels right now that is pro-life. The woman states that when she wanted a baby, it was a baby but when she didn't, it was something else. That commercial gives me the creeps....because the first time I saw it, I stopped dead in my tracks and thought "oh my God, that's just what I would say". I am currently in a turmoil over this particular issue and where I stand on it. I don't like to debate about it. I feel a certain way about things and have a hard time putting into words why. I'm envious of Sarah and how well she can put her reasons for supporting something into an understandable opinion. What do you feel strongly about?

Another Sarah told us about her favorite teacher(s) in school and why. Of course, this brought me back to good old Gville and who did I look up to? I'd truly have to say that Mr. Malo was one of my faves. Let alone that I had a crush on him (I think alot of girls did).... don't ask me why....he really wasn't all that good looking. Maybe it was his personality? Or the way he always cleared the post nasal drip out of the back of his throat? I just loved to hear him teach and speak French. Everything just flowed and sounded so poetic. Knowing that he was studying to become a priest made him all the more like Richard Chamberlain in Thornbirds... .untouchable and thus....more desirable. What in Gods name was I thinking?? Now you folks that went to school with me are probably having a good chuckle right now....but admit it...you thought he was HOT too. But back to our regularly scheduled blog question .. who was your favorite teacher and why?

And finally, we come to VeryZen-Amanda. She has some questions that will get that motor brain thinking. Here's my answers....

1. What book would I like to be? Nakoa's Woman by Gayle Rogers.... I want to be Maria

2. Have I ever had a crush on a fictional character? Frankly my dear I'd have to say Rhett.

3. What is the last book I bought? The Secret Lives of Bees

4. What is the last book I read? Looking for Annie Farrell

5. What book am I currently reading? Nothing at the moment, but I'm going to start the Secret Lives of Bees.

6. What 5 books would I take with me if I were stranded on a desert island? The Bible, Gone With the Wind, Nakoa's Woman, An I Spy book, and something along the lines of "How to Survive in the Wilderness"

And your answers are.......?

I can firmly state a Pro-Choice belief, not because I think babies are expendable but because it is everyperson's right to choose if they want one, and sometimes circumstances don't allow a choice. I am not a hard nose about it though, I do believe that there needs to be limits. After all abortion is not birth control. I say if you have 3 in ten years then you should be sterilied for the good of society.
As teachers go I would have to say that my favorite was Mr. Spirk, not because I had a crush on him or anything, but because he was the only high school teacher I had that believed in me.
When it comes to books I read Sci-Fi and Fantasy the most. Every once in a while I will read a mainstream title. I have just started the DeVinci Code. But I would love to have magical powers, so all the idiots of the world could easily be erased. LOL
The 5 books I would take with me are: Herbology, and four How to books so if I need to build a shelter and such I will not have to figure it out on my own. But I would never go to a dessert island anyway, I must have my computer and television. LOL

Wow...Mr. Malo...YUCK! He was dorky looking, and still is by the way...but I guess that I do get the whole Thornbirds thing. Now Mr. Tradiff....that was HOT, don't remember learning a single thing from him...but he was definitely HOT!
1. I would like to be Rhett Butler in Gone With The Wind...so rugged....so exciting...and NO PMS...EVER!
2. Crush on a fictional character....yeah....just about any man in a "Harlequin"(I seldom read these any more because they are so sappy).
3. The last book I bought was Deep Freeze (romantic thriller)
4. Deep Freeze, Not that great, I wouldn't read it again.
5. I always have a "chicken Soup" book going, right it's "for the sister's soul (a gift from Terri). I've been looking through all of my books at home trying to decide what I want to read, I may have to BUY something!
6. Definitely Gone With The Wind, The Thornbirds, the First VC Andrews trilogy, the one with Flower's in the Attic (that should only count as 1)Something really trashy by Jackie Collins or some other "romance" writer, and last but not least a blank journal to write in. Have a wonderful day. Mel

I got the secret lives of bees from a friend of mine. I'm going to read it as soon as I finish "The Know It All." This was for my March Book Club, and I still haven't finished it.

I'm not a book nerd, so I'm not sure what character I had a crush on. I've only recently gotten into reading like a mad woman.
